Camping 3 or 4 nights + canoeing over 1 or 2 days (Sat & Sun). Note - this registration is for the camping portion only.

The river section paddled will be decided on arrival after discussion with Neville, the onsite property & canoe owner (based on river heights, group experience & numbers).

Canoes have been $25/canoe/day (will take 3 people) and camping will be about $10/adult/night and $5 for kids. You can bring your own white water capable canoe / closed in kayak.

There will be the option of canoeing for either one or two days - there are plenty of other activities to do in this beautiful area. 30 minute instruction session at the start of each day then paddle about 8 ~ 15 km.

This is a relaxing weekend on and by the river at a “rustic private camp” located on the banks of the Blackwood.

There is a giant wooden shelter in the camp that contains large tables for playing games and keeping out of the rain – enough to fit everybody.  There is no power except for a small solar powered light in the shelter.  We generally camp over 2 or 3 nights and do some canoeing over 1 or 2 days depending on canoe availability.  Canoeing starts with a 30 minute instruction session at the start of each day then we paddle about 8 ~ 15 km depending on abilities, weather and enthusiasm!  Canadian canoes are hired locally ($25 per canoe a day) and we spend a pleasant half day or so paddling down the Blackwood River. A few small rapids here and there spice things – but we haven’t lost anyone yet!  The Family Bushwalkers Club (as with Barrabup and Torbay) are generally the only ones staying at the camp adding to the security and peace of mind for the parents.
